The College Organist or Assistants play for all weddings for which organ music is requested. Organist assignments are mailed to you several months prior to your wedding date, and the couple is urged to select the processional and recessional wedding marches in advance in conjunction with organist.
As a matter of policy, popular or "contemporary" tunes cannot be used for processionals and recessionals but may be integrated into the wedding service at other points. The wedding couple is responsible for getting necessary music to the organist at least one month prior to wedding ceremony.
There is a $200 organist fee which includes rehearsal and wedding service time, in addition to accompanying a soloist if requested.
If instrumentalists are to be accompanied by an organist, they must contact the organist in advance. Unless they have made special arrangements with the organist in advance, all vocalists and instrumentalists must attend the wedding rehearsal.
It is not mandatory that an organist be present at your wedding, and the organist fee will be waived if there is no organist required. If you do not need an organist, please let the Chapel Administrative Office know. If you are planning to use pre-recorded music of any kind, let the office know in advance to assign a College sound technician to the event.
A College-employed sound technician is required and will be assigned to attend rehearsal and wedding at no additional cost. The technician will set up and adjust microphones and play supplied pre-recorded music.
For a smooth technical experience, identify anticipated AV needs via the “Tech Checklist” provided to you. Please return the completed checklist to the Chapel Administrative Office one month prior to wedding.
Standard provisions for weddings include microphones at the pulpit and lectern, plus wireless lapel mics for the pastor and assisting clergy. Additional handheld wireless microphones are supplied for vocalists and instrumentalists as requested. If you have pre-recorded music on a CD, computer, or mp3 player, please have it ready for the sound technician at the start of rehearsal to connect to the chapel’s sound system.
The sound technician will check microphone and music volume levels and work with musicians at the rehearsal. Note only a College-employed sound technician is permitted to operate the sound board and all related AV control system equipment. Sound technician contact info will be provided should you wish to correspond prior to rehearsal.
Photography arrangements should be made in consultation with your photographer and clergy. Photography is limited to your allotted time. Photography within the Chapel and surrounding grounds should be inconspicuous so as not to detract from the solemnity of the occasion in a religious sanctuary.
Flash photography by guests is discouraged, and we ask that you inform guests or place this request in your bulletin.
If the wedding service is being recorded, the wedding hostess will suggest appropriate places to record the ceremony.
