Grove City College offers a Christian ministries degree that will prepare you for a life of Kingdom-building service. With a B.A. in Christian ministries, you will be equipped to pursue a vocation in non-ordained professional ministry with churches, para-church agencies, and mission organizations within or outside of the United States. As you explore Scripture under the guidance of renowned faculty and learn to apply biblical principles, you will grow in wisdom, boldness, and humility, empowered to share the love of Christ with a world in need.

    • Christian ministries majors are required to complete an internship in Christian ministry for three or more credits before they graduate.
    • Recently students have interned with organizations including Urban Impact, Living Word Community Church, Joshua’s Haven City Rescue Mission, and Push the Rock.
  • Research opportunities – Conduct research and independent study alongside faculty in areas such as historical theology, textual criticism, Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic, among other subjects.
  • Ministry and missions groups – Nearly 20 student-led ministry groups and several mission and service opportunities across the country and around the world, giving you abundant ways to grow in servant leadership with fellow believers in Christ and put biblical principles into practice.
  • Chapel program – A dynamic program that catalyzes spiritual development on campus, offering regular opportunities to worship corporately and glean wisdom from diverse thought leaders of the Christian tradition who share insightful perspectives on the issues facing your generation.
  • Rathburn Hall – A building devoted to campus ministries that houses our ministry staff and provides ample space for large events, small group meetings, and individual prayer and devotional time.
  • Welcoming local churches – Student participation in church services, small groups, and youth ministry is warmly encouraged.

  • Like 95% of Grove City College graduates, you will be prepared to compete for a full-time ministry position, enter seminary at an advanced level, or pursue a master’s or doctorate degree in your area of interest.
    • Grove City College has memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with leading seminaries including Trinity School of Ministry, allowing our seminary-bound students to save money by earning advanced placement credits at Grove City College and enter seminary with a head start of a semester or more.
    • Recent graduates have obtained positions with organizations and churches including Pittsburgh Fellows, Unity Community Church (PA), Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church (PA), The Village Church (TN), and Memorial Park Presbyterian Church (PA), among others across the country.

Program Specifics
  • Course requirements – 36 major credit hours of courses lay a solid foundation in Scripture and give you freedom to tailor your major with various electives. For detailed course descriptions, view the College Catalog.
    • Core requirements include Old Testament and New Testament, Christian Doctrine, Communicating the Gospel, Leadership and Ministry Administration, and Spiritual Formation, among others.
    • Ministry and religion elective options include Christ and Culture, Discipleship and Evangelism, Worship and Prayer Ministry, Biblical Counseling, Theology of Missions, Contemporary American Religion, World Religions, and various biblical books in the Old Testament and New Testament, among others.
  • Flexibility – You can double major or take courses in liberal arts and social science classes such as English, communication studies, history, modern foreign languages, philosophy, psychology, and more.
    • As you map out your four-year plan, faculty advisors and career services office staff will always be available to assist you in selecting courses that align with your long-term goals.
  • Departmental minors – Become even more marketable with minors in Christian ministries, youth ministry, classical studies, and classical Christian education, as well as various others.
