FACULTY Our faculty come to Grove City with a deep-rooted passion for their fields and a commitment to investing in students’ lives as teachers and mentors in and out of the classroom. More than 80% of our 160 full-time faculty have terminal degrees from such prestigious institutions as Oxford, Cambridge, Princeton, Yale, Michigan, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Carnegie Mellon, and MIT, to name a few.
HUMANITIES CORE CURRICULUM The Humanities Core grants students of all majors an enriched perspective on the good life and a deeper desire to know the God who reigns at the heart of it. By exploring Scripture and different facets of civilization and culture, you will gain a well-rounded understanding of the world and your place in it. As you prepare for your vocation, the Humanities Core will cultivate empathy, sharpen your critical thinking, writing and other communication skills, and inspire a deep-rooted appreciation for the dignity of all people.

HOW WE PRICE DIFFERENTLY We know the cost and long-term value of a college education can be concerning, and we are committed to dealing truthfully in our pricing and scholarship offerings (Proverbs 11:1). Specifically, we avoid the problematic practice of unfunded tuition discounting—a pricing practice used by nearly every private college that results in students unwittingly funding their classmates’ scholarships. Moreover, this practice can function as a financial smokescreen that often masks inferior or mediocre student outcomes, which can divert a student’s attention from better long-term opportunities. Grove City sets its tuition at what it actually costs to educate a student. Our initial price is low, and from there we offer financial aid and scholarships. FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE You may know that Grove City College does not accept federal aid in response to its 1984 landmark Supreme Court case, Grove City College v. Bell, but you may not know the reason for our position. In 1996, then-president Dr. John Moore said to a Washington, D.C. think tank, “As a private Christian college, we have legitimate concern about federal interference in what we teach and how we teach it.” Grove City College accepts no federal funding primarily to safeguard the Christian consciences of our faculty and students. Though it is a hard path to walk, over the years we’ve witnessed how this principled stand has positively shaped the minds and hearts of our students as they solidify their worldview and tackle today’s challenges with boldness and humility.

THE HONORABLE
PAUL J. McNULTY ’80 Paul J. McNulty ’80 is the ninth president of Grove City College. Prior to returning to his alma mater in 2014, Mr. McNulty spent over 30 years in Washington, D.C. as an attorney in both public service and private practice. In 2005, the United States Senate unanimously confirmed Mr. McNulty to the position of Deputy Attorney General, the second in command at the U.S. Department of Justice and the Chief Operating Officer of the department’s 100,000 employees. He also served from 2001 to 2005 as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and was a leader in our nation’s response to the terrorist attacks of September 11. Mr. McNulty worked

for more than 10 years as a senior attorney in the U.S. Congress, including as Chief Counsel and Director of Legislative Operations for the House Majority Leader and Chief Counsel for the House Subcommittee on Crime. From 2007 to 2014, Mr. McNulty led the global corporate compliance and investigations practice for Baker McKenzie, one of the world’s largest law firms. He is a cofounder of Faith & Law, an organization dedicated to helping congressional staff better understand the implications of the Christian worldview for their calling to the public square. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Ethics and Compliance Initiative and the Trinity Forum.
