​B.M. in Music Education Leading to K-12 Certification ​​​

Grove City College provides a solid foundation to students wishing to educate the young men and women of tomorrow. Students majoring in music leading to K-12 certification in music education take courses specific to the education major, along with a core of liberal arts courses.

Specifically, majors in music leading to K-12 certification in music take 97 credit hours of major coursework and are exposed to real-life teaching situations during field experiences and student teaching and extra-curricular engagement with the department’s events and honoraries.

Students should refer to the College Bulletin​ for major status sheets and information regarding state-specific certification requirements that are additional to the curriculum.​

Minor in Music

​Students minoring in music can take advantage of an impressive range of ensemble and course options along with a wide variety of private instrument lessons.​​

 

B.M. in Music, Business

The Bachelor of Music degree in music/business prepares students for employment in the areas of music merchandising or arts management.
 

Minor in Studio Art

Students minoring in studio art may choose from a broad selection of courses including drawing and painting, ceramics, sculpture, print-making, history and appreciation of art, elements of design, history of pueblo pottery and photography.​

​The Bachelor of Music degree in music requires advanced instrumental or vocal work in an applied major area over a student’s four years of study.​​

 

B.M. Music, Religion

The Bachelor of Music degree in music/religion prepares students for graduate study and careers in music ministry and Christian education.

English Major Leading to 7-12 Certification in English and Communication

Mathematics Major Leading to 7-12 Certification

​Majors in mathematics leading to 7-12 certification in mathematics take 88 credit hours of major coursework and are exposed to real-life teaching situations during field experiences and student teaching, as well as extra-curricular engagement with the department’s events and honoraries.​

 

English Major Leading to 7-12 Certification in English

In addition to completing 85 credit hours of major coursework, students are exposed to real-life teaching situations during field experiences and student teaching.
 

History Major Leading to 7-12 Certification in Secondary Education

​Students majoring in history leading to 7-12 certification in secondary education  social studies take courses specific to the history major along with the required liberal arts and education core.​​

 

Chemistry Secondary Education Major Leading to 7-12 Certification

​Students majoring in chemistry leading to 7-12 certification in chemistry take courses specific to the major along with the required liberal arts and education core.​​
