Touring Choir to perform at Harbison Chapel

The Grove City College Touring Choir will host a concert on Saturday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Harbison Chapel on campus. The choir is directed by Dr. Douglas Browne, professor of music, and is composed of 45 singers from the College.

The choir will perform a wide variety of music that includes Renaissance pieces, classical sacred a capella music and three gospel selections. In addition, the choir will also sing a piece that was composed by one of their own members, Kevin Hanse ’13.

The choir has just returned from their spring tour singing in seven different locations throughout California. “The beauty of everything that we have seen; Yosemite, the Pacific Coast and greatness of God’s creation, has brought to me a new sense of the greatness of God and the privilege it is to participate in the making of music,” Maggie Barr ’13 said.

The choir seeks to praise and glorify God and to minister to others through the medium of music, striving together to achieve choral excellence. In addition to the annual spring tour, the choir performs at churches and schools in the Western Pennsylvania area, and at various campus events.
