How big of a role did the affordability of Grove City College play in your college decision making process?
It was very instrumental in helping me decide. I didn’t want to go into great levels of debt and the affordable tuition made it a much easier choice when compared against many other schools. Especially when coupled with scholarships and other reductions, Grove City College is an incredible price!

How has your faith been strengthened and perhaps even challenged during your time here?
My Christian faith has been immersed in a culture that engages and strengthens its integrity. Alongside many Christian peers, I am challenged in the classroom by professors who integrate faith in classes, pushed to seek new levels of intimacy with Christ, and encouraged to actively apply my faith in all places of my life.

What drew you to choose biology as your major?
I particularly chose biology at Grove City College because I wanted a foundation that was rooted in a biblical worldview of science. In addition to being rigorous, my classes have incorporated a deep understanding of creation and a humble focus on God’s sovereignty over the unknown world.

What is the relationship like between the students and the professors?
The professors here are one of my favorite parts. They aren’t seeking for me to merely get letter grades, but to actively apply the knowledge and will come alongside me to make sure that I do. Beyond that, they have also authentically cared for my personal life, regularly being interested in what was going on with me outside the classroom. This has led to the fostering of great relationships with the faculty, many of whom I consider to be my mentors and friends.

What advice would you give to an incoming student?
Enjoy being exactly where you are. A mentor of mine encouraged me to enjoy every second of every moment. It is so easy for us as students to see college (or even high school) as a temporary season instead of embracing it for the rich opportunity that it is. “Wherever you are, be all there.” – Jim Elliot

Describe your experience in campus activities.
I have been unbelievably blessed by the rich communities present on campus. They have surrounded me with both likeminded and different men and women who have each stretched me and challenged me in specific ways. Sometimes, it is very difficult to interact with others who believe very differently from me, but I consider it so important to not cushion our lives among only likeminded people. The chance to live in a hall with my best friends and grow through very formative years with them has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
