Students Gather to Worship in International Service

Students and faculty gathered to worship and glorify God in a variety of world languages during this year’s International Praise & Worship Service hosted by the Alpha Mu Gamma Foreign Language Honorary in late April.

This annual Grove City College event included a heartfelt performance of “In Christ Alone” in French, Chinese, and German by Alpha Mu Gamma’s President Aubrey Moore, and “Hi-Ne-Ni” ("Here I Am"), a Chinese version of a Hebrew hymn, presented by the Chinese Club. The final verse of “Hi-Ne-Ni” was sung with the English translation overlapping the Chinese, symbolizing God’s incredible heart for the nations and His desire for every voice and tongue to praise Him.

During the Spanish praise song “Anástasis” ("O Praise the Name"), the voices of the congregation created an impactful moment of corporate worship as they praised God in a language different from their own.

In addition to musical performances, students provided readings of various Bible passages in Italian, Danish, Portuguese, Spanish, German, Latin, Swahili, Korean, Chinese, French, and Bahasa Indonesian. The service closed with a rendition of the gospel hymn “I’ll Fly Away.”
