Students complete 18 credit hours of course requirements to minor in communication arts. Six credit hours comprise the communication arts core. Students may choose 12 credit hours of communication arts electives.

Students complete 24 credit hours of course requirements to minor in international studies. Students must also demonstrate modern language competency by completing at least the second year course sequence (201-202) or equivalent in a widely spoken modern language other than the student’s native language. International studies minors also complete an approved international academic experience in study abroad at the college level for a semester or a year or three credits of an international internship experience.
The studio art minor provides a foundation in the studio arts through practical experience in the process of making art and a full range of art courses. Students complete 21 credit hours to explore their creativity and problem solving skills using the technical skills taught in each course. Students may take advantage of a diverse range of course options including drawing, painting, ceramics, gallery studies, and art history.
Students earning a minor in design engage in a rich curriculum of courses in which they apply design as a method of problem solving in a studio environment. The design minor requires completion of 21 credit hours and prepares students for a competitive world where effective visual communication, storytelling, and creative thinking are differentiators in nearly every discipline. Students complete seven design courses as well as supportive studio art and communication courses such as drawing, painting, sculpture, research methods, photography, and video production.
Administered by the Department of English, students complete 24 credit hours of course requirements to minor in theatre, including 12 credit hours from the theatre core and 12 credit hours of elective options. The minor is open to all students and offers the opportunity to develop foundational skills in the craft of the theatre.
Administered by the Department of Computer Science, students complete 21 credit hours of course requirements to minor in computer game design and development. The minor includes coursework in psychology or sociology, communication studies, and computer science.
