Offered each fall, this competition is open to all Grove City College students who present a two-minute pitch on an original idea for a commercial or social venture.
This competition provides students the opportunity to design, develop, and implement projects of their own conception. The competition encourages the development of cross-disciplinary teams to offer solutions to real world problems and offers cash prizes.
Grove City College’s own version of Shark Tank creates a fun and friendly environment for pitching an idea for a campus experience or improvement. Students can win $1,000 to implement their idea.
Open to all Grove City College students who have ideas for commercial and social ventures, this competition allows students to compete for funding in front of a panel of investors each spring.
The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation also encourages and supports students who want to compete in external competitions.
Grove City College teams have enjoyed considerable success in both regional and national competitions. For example, in 2017, entrepreneurship majors, Hannah Vaccaro ’18 and Ross Harrington, ’17, advanced through the semi-final round to place in the top five teams at EIX’s e-Fest National Business Plan Competition held at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, Minn. In addition, the team won third place in the 2017 Big Idea Competition at Allegheny College and took home $8,500 in seed investment money at the 2017 Grove City College Wolverine Venture Battle.
